CHAPEL

Most of the e-mail I receive from people with Short Bowel Syndrome gives credit to God for life, even though it may not be the ideal life most people have been used to. I have received one or two e-mails that has said God had nothing to do with it, and in fact one person so much as told me that there was no God.

I was raised in an old fashioned Missionary Baptist Church
The hills of West Virginia are full of all "denominations", some, I do not agree with their way of thinking and interpretation of the Bible, but, I will respect their right to their belief. I knew most of the people in and around Charleston. (My fathers side of the family come to West Virginia in the 1800's.)  Most of their Great Grand-Fathers and Mothers were immigrants from other countries. My own Grand-Mother (Mothers side of the family) several generations back was Cherokee Indian.

Each of the groups of immigrants had their own way of praising their God, but praise God they did in their own way. They were not ashamed of their religion, and it was a  part of their life that has survived the ages.

I do not know how someone can look at a morning sunrise, the cloud's moving across  the sky, the sweet smell of the forest after a spring shower, or the glistening sunset  over a lake, and not feel the presents of God with them.

If there is no God, then why do they insist on taking his name in vain? Is this not contradictory in itself?

I do believe in a Heaven, and I do believe in a Hell. Why, you ask (?) because the Bible I read describes them in detail. I cannot speak for anyone else, but in my case I have had a personal experience that tells me there is a God watching over me and taking care of me. And, before you send me e-mails, I will not debate the subject.

My Bible tells me Jesus said " I go to prepare a place for you", and when he is ready I will go to that place he has prepared. According to some peoples standards, I may not always be "Christ like", but then again, I believe everyone on their arrival, will be a little bit surprised at who they have for neighbors in Heaven.
